Build Club Perth - February 2026
February 2026 β’ Curtin Entrepreneurs Hub

π Is the 48-hour "Hackathon" officially dead?
Last night at Build Club Perth, we witnessed a pivot in how software is born.
The $1 Sprint Challenge
We brought together a room full of dev pros and welcomed a wave of newcomers at the Curtin Entrepreneurs Hub for the $1 Sprint Challenge. The goal wasn't just to "code"βit was to launch and earn.
The Secret Sauce: What is Manus AI?
The room was buzzing because of Manus AIβan Autonomous AI Agent. Unlike a standard chatbot that just talks, Manus is an "action engine." It has its own cloud-based browser and sandbox, meaning it can research, write code, and actually execute tasks just like a human developer or analyst.
It's the ultimate tool for "Vibe Coding"βwhere you provide the vision and the intent, and the AI handles the technical heavy lifting.
The Results (In just 1.5 hours!)
The speed of Manus, Bolt, v0 and other tools floored even the seasoned devs and PMs. We saw:
- β A Coffee Shop site & Roster Scheduler
- π₯ A Patient Reporting tool & Budgeting Planners
- π Visual Sprint Templates launched as products via Gumroad (the plug-and-play store for creators)
π The Wall of Fame
- Will Webster β Our first to hit "Publish" and launch to the world
- Mingma Tenzing Sherpa β Our first to capture value and earn that legendary first $1!
The Big Question
Do we need 48 hours anymore? When you can "vibe code" a functional MVP and process a payment before the pizza gets cold, the game has changed.
π Big Thanks
Huge thanks to Tim Sondalini for showing us why he's THE hackathon leader pro, and to Manus for the Pro credits that fuelled the night.
